Fresh Fruit Sno-Cones {Recipe}

Kids love sno-cones! But, who needs all of those food dyes, chemicals and sugars in the syrups? Try these delicious fruit syrups that are so easy to make, you’ll be happy to whip these up for your kids (or your friends) at your next cookout.

Fresh Fruit Sno-Cones {Recipe}

Ingredients

  • Blue-raspberry syrup: 1 cup raspberries + 1.5 cups blueberries + 1/2 cup sugar + 1/2 cup water
  • Cherry syrup: 2 cups stemmed cherries (or use frozen) + 1/2 cup sugar + 1/2 cup water
  • Strawberry syrup: 1 lb. strawberries (hulled and de-stemmed) + 1/2 cup sugar + 1/2 cup water
  • Shaved ice (can use machine or blend ice in a blender or food processor)

Instructions

  1. Add your favorite fruit, sugar and water to a medium-sized saucepan. Bring to a boil or over high heat; cook uncovered for 3 minutes or until thickens slightly. Let cool. Blend or puree in a blender or food processor. (Pour through sieve if large chunks of fruit or seeds remain.) Chill in refrigerator until cool. Pour into squeeze bottles or spoon syrup onto shave ice. Enjoy!
